Yesterday, I went out with some friends to the movies. We saw this arabic movie called "Hassan Tayyara" (arabic for Hassan Aeroplane!). Now, I know what you're thinking... The name says it all but, it doesn't!! The film was even worse than anyone could possibly imagine and is based on a story that has only been made into like 100 movies in the last 20 years.
It tells the story of Hassan, an unemployed lawyer working as a bus driver who one day saves a hot politician-businessman's daughter as two guys were flirting with her. Eventually, she falls for him and later he does too. Unfortunately, this upsets both her father and his business associate who was planning on marrying her so he tries to kill Hassan about a dozen times and of course kidnaps the girl. In the end, Hassan rescues the girl, kills the bad guy and marries the princess.
What an original story! Although I felt insulted (somewhere on a mental level), I honestly believe that I've seen worse and above all, that I've learnt my lesson, that is never to go see an arabic movie unless I've heard some good reviews about it and from people I really trust!
