As I was listening to The Fray's "All at once" I opened Wikipedia and started reading the article on Staind, I learnt that their drummer's name is Jon Wysocki (irrelevant at the moment but wait and see). After I was done, I thought... hey, why not read the article on The Fray?! So, in the search space on the Wikipedia website, I typed "The Fray" only to realize that "The Fray" wasn't just Spanish for friar and a name of a band but also the name of one of Staind's song from their album "14 shades of grey"! Not weird enough for you, continue reading... When I proceeded to The Fray's page on Wikipedia and read through a little, I came across the section on the band's lineup where I was surprised to find out that their drummer shares the same last name with Staind's drummer although they're not related. What are the odds?!
It made me realize how often an incident like this has happened to me. Sometimes, I'd be talking to someone about a certain movie, only to find it playing on TV that same day or sometimes when I would learn about something only to find someone talking about that same exact thing later! Talk about a phenomenon! I am not sure if there's a valid term to fully describe these weird happenings! I mean it's neither Deja vu nor the six degrees of separation theory!
Don't get me wrong, I am not being superficial here, I am serious! It's not just about Staind's drummer and The Fray's drummer sharing the same last name, that last name is actually a common polish last name and it might be possible that both guys come from polish backgrounds! I am talking about the feeling of bewilderment accompanied by a state of confusion that overwhelms you while trying to comprehend what has led you into two unrelated paths only to find them intertwining! A lot of movies were actually based on that idea (Crash, Memento, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Babel, just to name a few) but non of them actually try to explain the reason why events like the ones in those movies actually happen, non of them actually give a thought out explanation for the notion they are all built upon!
